Ashish Dawar is a cinematographer with added expertise in virtual productions, post color and LED volumes.
He grew up in various regions across India resulting in a diverse and eclectic background that has shaped his unique approach to film. He is known for his ability to tell passionate, authentic stories that both connect with and elevate the audience.
Dawar moved to the US to study cinematography at AFI (American Film Institute, LA). The first narrative feature he shot, Under the Same Sun, would go on to premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival and win multiple awards. Apart form English, He has shot a few language-features including Hindi, Mandarin, Tamil, Malayalam & Spanish.
Over the past decade, his credits also include on-set virtual production work for One Perfect Shot (Warner Brothers Horizon) and VFX supervision for Dead to Me (Netflix) and Hacks (HBOmax). A specialist in ICVFX cinematography and post color, Dawar has been developing virtual production and LED volume workflows for CBS-VFX at Paramount Studios. To unwind, he enjoys classical music and seeks the quiet with long hikes, ping pong or a morning spent paddleboarding.
